Delhi ~ Agra ~ Jaipur ~ Bundi ~ Pushkar ~ Jodhpur ~ Jaisalmer ~ Delhi
Diwali Festival of Light, a major celebration on the Hindu calendar, will be celebrated in Jaisalmer.
Day 1 – Saturday 28 October – Delhi
Arrival in Delhi. Pick up from airport and transfer to the hotel.
Meet guide and introduction to others in tour group. Tour briefing, Q&A plus and any changes.
Guided walk around local area and market to get accustomed to being in India.
Purchase of SIM card if desired. Please bring two spare passport sized photos for this transaction.
Group dinner.
Day 2 – Sunday 29 October – Agra
Visit to Old Delhi including the spice market with rickshaw ride through the narrow alleys.
Travel to Agra in the afternoon.
Art workshop location tbc.
Relaxation on arrival at hotel.
Group dinner at local restaurant.
Day 3 – Monday 30 October – Jaipur the ‘Pink City’
Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise.
Travel to Jaipur [5 hrs drive away]
Art workshop location tbc.
Late afternoon workshop to design your own wood block.
Group dinner.
Day 4 – Tuesday 31 October – Jaipur the ‘Pink City’
Full day excursion to Bagru, a small village with 1 hour drive from Jaipur, where traditional wood block printing is practiced.
Walking tour of village with visit to block carvers and printing workshops.
Workshop - Print your own scarf or sarong.
Group dinner at Hotel or dinner at leisure.
Day 5 – Wednesday 1 November – Jaipur the ‘Pink City’
Visit Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and City Palace within the old city.
Explore Jaipur markets.
Attend Bollywood movie in the evening.
Group dinner.
Day 6 – Thursday 2 November - Bundi
Morning visit to Nahargarh (Tiger) Fort.
Drive to Bundi approximately 3 1/2 hr drive away.
Art workshop location tbc.
Afternoon walk to explore the streets, local market, stepwell and lake.
Group dinner.
Day 7 – Friday 3 November – Bundi
Leisurely day visiting the magnificent Bundi Palace.
Art workshop conducted in the Palace.
Afternoon to relax, explore, paint or be pampered.
Group dinner.
Day 8 – Saturday 4 November – Pushkar the ‘Holy City’
Drive to Pushkar [4-5 Hrs drive away].
Art workshop location tbc.
Late afternoon walk to Sunset point.
Group dinner.
Day 9 – Sunday 5 November – Pushkar
Morning visit to Ghats for Blessing by Brahmin Priest.
Wander through the bazaar.
Art workshop and lunch in restaurant by the lake.
Afternoon at leisure for relaxation, massage, swim or shopping.
Group dinner.
Day 10 – Monday 6 November - Pushkar
Morning visit to Stitching Project tbc or other activity.
Afternoon at leisure for relaxation, massage, swim or shopping.
Late afternoon walk (or cable car) up Pushkar Hill at sunset.
Group dinner.
Day 11 – Tuesday 7 November – Jodhpur
Travel 4hrs to Jodhpur.
Art workshop location tbc.
Late afternoon walking tour visiting step well, clock tower markets and spice shop.
Group dinner.
Day 12 – Wednesday 8 November – Jodhpur
Morning visit to Meherangarh Fort.
Afternoon at leisure.
Late afternoon art workshop.
Group dinner.
Day 13 – Thursday 9 November – Jaisalmer the ‘Golden City’
Drive to Jaisalmer [5 hrs drive away].
Art workshop location tbc..
Afternoon/Evening walk into Jaisalmer Fort.
Group dinner.
Day 14 – Friday 10 November - Jaisalmer
Morning walking tour visiting Jaisalmers’ heritage sites.
Late afternoon camel safari into the desert.
Camp fire dinner plus music, singing and dancing with the Kalbeliya gypsies, under the stars in the Thar Desert.
Day 15 – Saturday 11 November – Jaisalmer
Morning art workshop.
Rest of day for relaxation, shopping, painting or pampering.
Day 16 – Sunday 12 November
Early morning wake up for sunrise visit to Water Temple.
Art workshop by the lake.
DIWALI celebrations.
Day 17 – Monday 13 November
Flight to Delhi.
Conclusion of tour.
Transfer to Indira Gandhi International airport for flight home.
